Into the 8th week we go!
I had a pretty rough week last week. I was SICK from Monday at 3am until late yesterday (Sunday). The week began with the first signs of nausea --which haven't left me since. At 3am on Monday morning I awoke to massive stomach and intestinal cramping. . . you can imagine what came next. That continued for the rest of the week. I called in on Monday (had to) and then Wednesday, I skipped the morning meeting and came in when I had to teach classes. Thursday I had to tough it out through one of the worst days of nausea yet-- during parent-teacher conferences! I was at work until 8:30pm that night. I can't believe I made it. Friday, I learned we were having twins-- I also learned I could take my dissolvable 'zolfran' tablets to help lessen the nausea. I'm taking them sparingly "just in case" they do more harm then good.
The big news came Saturday. After noticing my urine grow darker and darker over the past week, I thought I needed to drink more water. This only made the bright red blood much more apparent when I peed out all the water I had been drinking. Yeah, I'm pissin' blood.
Awesome.
DH and I spent the rest of Saturday night (until 2AM) at the ER trying to get it figured out. While I, of course, fear the worst-- like kidney failure, so far the doctor seems to think it is just an UTI (urinary tract infection). I am currently on the one 'pregnancy' safe antibiotic. Hopefully it will clear up soon.
Phew. . .
So it's been a rough week to say the least. I am glad to be on the other side of most of my non-pregnancy sickness and just dealing with the nausea which seemed to be held at bay by just one dissolving Zofran tablet n this morning.
In other news:
Current stats:
Weight Gain: LOST 5-6 pounds from the wonderful week of sickliness.
Cravings: Still love the fruit cups and am also digging: organic chewy granola bars, fruit snacks and veggie pasta salad, easy on the dressing.
Nauseous: HELL YES.
Belly touches: Just DH.
Feeling: Still very tired. Also less tolerant of stupid people-- yes even more than usual. I am still fighting the sicknesses from last week, but I think the antibiotics are helping. Back pain is beginning to kick in too.
Boy or girl: Well I guess I could have one of each now! I keep going back and forth on what I'd like. . .still open at this point.
Single or twins: I was right-- TWINS! (This question will disappear next week. . .)
Emotional state: Cranky on occasion but I more or less just want to get to my Spring break. I need a vacation. 8 days of work to go!

OBGYN: The search continues. I am going to most likely make appointments with 2-3 different ones and 'interview each of them'.
What a scary experience! Glad you are feeling better.
