IUI # 2--In the AM.

Last night, I checked my LH levels again.
To me, it seems obvious, that you may check your LH at 7am on Tuesday with no surge to be found. However, 20 minutes later you could be in business. But you wouldn't find out until the next day if you only check in the morning. Going by that--I could be a day late.
So hommie no play that.
I checked last night around 10:00pm and low and behold SURGE! Big smiley face. I ran in to show DH because it is the first time a stick has ever read good news for us. Why not get excited?
This all means that tomorrow (Thursday) at 8:00am DH goes in to toss some more swimmers in a cup. 9:45am I'm back laying down with my feet in the stirrups. (Not the most romantic way to make a baby--but I'm way over that now.)
It's the second try for IUI, but the first at my new RE's office. So after three rounds of clomid, and two IUI's we are hoping for a miracle. I'm also checking into an acupuncturist but more on that later.
Updates tomorrow after the procedure. I'll be lounging around for the afternoon, so I'll have plenty of time to write my blog and chat in the IF chatroom.
Toss some baby dust on us and wish us super sperm!

Change of plans. . .

Change of plans.
Since my new lame RE's office can't do apts this week in the afternoon, I am forced to cancel today's ultrasound and tomorrow's scheduled IUI. BUT FEAR NOT BABY WISHERS!!

I am going to test with my daily ovulation monitor. So far no LH surge. But this is good. Tomorrow my DH and I CANNOT make it to the RE since they are not available after 11am. So as long as I keep monitoring my surge, I should be able to schedule my IUI the next day. (Without an Ultrasound).
Here's the deal: Once I take my test in the AM and get a positive surge, I have approx. 24-36 until I ovulate. So I will call the office and schedule my IUI for the next day (About 24-36 hours later). HOPEFULLY, that will allow the swimmers time to meet up with the egg and fertilize before the egg disintegrates or the sperm kick the bucket.
I'm guessing I will have a surge tomorrow (CD14) or Thursday (CD 15). That will mean IUI on Thursday or Friday. I think that's the best plan anyways. Saves us money because we don't use the HSG shot ($115 bucks) or the Ultrasound (about $650).
If there is any poopy-part, I am always curious about what my follicle(s) look like after clomid. I always liked to see them on the screen and get my print out. That way we know the egg is mature enough and that there IS one. Plus, if I get prego this month I could have a pic of my half-child before she/he even was!
Either way, it's a new plan and I think I like it. If it goes smoothly, I might do it this way from now on!

I feel like my gut hates me.

Over the last few days my LH has hit the roof. Luckily, I ovulated. Sweet.
Apparently, the CBE monitor says I was at "high" or "peak" fertility for 4-5 days. Goodness. We'll see how accurate that is after the 2WW. (Two week wait).
Now . . . I have felt like my stomach HATES me for the last few days. Pretty much since the first day of ovulation. It just feels like there's a lot of pressure and movement. Not sure what the heck that even means? I can't quite figure out if it's all in my head, I have a never ending hidden gas bubble, or if something is actually happening--baby style. I mean, how the Hell would I know? Anyone have any thoughts???
Either way, I haven't drank any alcohol (Sigh . . .) or eaten too many crappy things this month in anticipation of good news.
I can only hope. . . .
In addition to this I got an "informational sheet" in the mail from my GYN. It's all about artificial insemination using my man's sperm.
Goodness Lord.
If I wasn't dying to be pregnant before this--now the pressure is on. Not only does it sound extremely unpleasant. (i.e.: Contracting an infection of the uterus or pelvic organs--Nice.) But is costs $550.00 each try. They recommend doing this at least 6 times. THAT'S $3,300!!! Holy S#*^! Yeah . . . insurance doesn't cover a dime. Apparently not even the HSG I had done a week ago. They're so slimy.
It's going to be a long two weeks! Anyone have any good ways to pass the time????

"I see an LH a-risin' . . ."

Tonight we commence plans for the next three cycles of the journey. . .
Do exactly what you did for the last 5 cycles . . .and wait. . . and hope that the HSG flushed some junk out of your tubes and it works. . . . uh okay.
Time will tell. I like to be optimistic, however, I feel like I just did this. Where's my Clomid!?!
I test my LH every day, (just as before). Today began a "high LH day" . So approx. two days from now I should see "peak LH" which = ovulation. Fingers crossed that we time it all correctly!
GYN says if nothing happens in three months then come in, and we should add the clomid 50mg.
Dang. As if I wasn't already waiting for Spring--now add this!
